Inventory and Appraisal Companies Join Forces

Charlotte, NC

Detailed Home Inventory Inc.
and
Robbins Appraisals
have agreed to work cooperatively to increase the value of the services they provide to their clients through a new referral program. Detailed Home Inventory provides their clients with comprehensive documentation of possessions and building structures using high pixel photography and written inventory.
During the inventory process the question often arises as to the value of items such as art works, antiques, china, jewelry and other collectables. If those items were destroyed or stolen would the owner have proof of ownership and have appropriate insurance coverage? With a comprehensive inventory of clients processions insurance companies will cover the value of most items as long as insurance coverage is adequate. An appraisal may be required for big ticket items and possessions not normally covered by the average insurance policy. If the value of the items exceeds the insurance coverage then riders to the policy may need to be applied for those specific items.
Without adequate documentation and related increases in insurance coverage the client would definitely lose if they had to file an insurance claim due to theft, fire or other form of loss. After an inventory and related appraisals are completed it is recommended that clients then discuss their insurance coverage needs with their agent to determine if they have adequate coverage. From the information provided by the complete inventory process the agent can then better assist his/her in client determining coverage required for full protection of assets. |
