Jan previewing items at the Historic Chinqua Penn Plantation Estate Sale,
held April 25-26 at the Greensboro, NC Coliseum. Many 17 -19th C examples of
ivory and bone figures and unique antiques.
Shown, an antique German Bone Dagger, Lot 12, featuring a crest with
griffins and knights, the guard of carved bone, forged steel blade, carved
bone scabbard with profile portraits of four kings and carved fruitwood tip,
Lot 788, Spanish Powder Horn, 16th C, bone, etched boar and stag design
with wrought iron mounts, red damask and gold gallon strap, silk fringe
Rhinocerous Horn Chilong Libation Cup, 18th C or earlier. Carved with three
Chilongs clamoring over the sides and emanating form the handle, on small
stepped foot. 3" H X 4.5" W X 3" D, some damage to one side of the spout.

part Vargueno, walnut crucifixion and the descent from the cross Gothic
Interior with 14 drawers with 2 carved center doors, arcaded with ivory
